Designer Terms

These terms apply to every designer and label with a store on House of JD, on top of our Terms and Conditions. Opening a designer store means you accept both.

A short version sits in your designer dashboard under Designer rules. This page is the full set, and if the two ever differ, this page applies. Questions go to info@houseofjd.in or +91 93723 43535.

Membership and fees

• The designer membership is ₹2,999 for 365 days, paid once. Nothing renews on its own.
• You need an active membership to list pieces. Registering takes you straight to checkout for it, and it can only be paid online, not by Cash on Delivery.
• We email you 15 days before the membership ends. If it lapses, your pieces go offline until you renew.
• House of JD keeps 25% of each sale. There is no listing fee and no payment fee. Any tax Indian law requires us to deduct or collect is shown on your payout.
• When a shopper uses a House of JD discount code on your piece, House of JD bears the discount, so it does not reduce your share.

Listing your pieces

• List only pieces you designed and made, under your own label. No other brands, no copied designs.
• Add each piece from your dashboard, or email the product sheet and your photos to info@houseofjd.in and our team lists them for you.
• Our team checks every listing before it goes live in the shop, and can ask you to change a listing or turn it down if it breaks these terms.
• Describe each piece honestly: fabric, fit, colour, sizes and how it is made.
• Your price is what the customer pays. Add a sale price only when you are discounting, and keep it lower than the price.
• Dispatch days are the working days from order to courier pickup. They show on the product page, so keep them honest.
• If a ready-stock piece sells anywhere else, mark it out of stock here the same day.
• By listing a piece you confirm that its description, photos, price, sizes and dispatch days are accurate, and that the design and the photos are yours or you have the right to use them. Sending us a product sheet or photos for our team to list counts as listing those pieces yourself, and the same confirmation applies.

Photos

• 3 to 6 photos per piece: front, back, side, a close-up of the detail, and one on a person if you can.
• Portrait, 2:3. Best size 1200 x 1800 px, largest 2000 x 3000 px, as a JPG under 2 MB. Bigger photos are shrunk on upload. Photos over 8 MB, or under 800 px on the short side, are refused.
• A plain white or light background, with the whole piece in frame, heads and hems included.
• No text, prices, logos, watermarks or collages on the photo.

Orders and dispatch

• New orders show under Orders in your designer dashboard.
• Make, pack and have every order ready for the courier within the dispatch days on its listing.
• House of JD books the courier and delivers the parcel. You do not arrange shipping yourself.
• If you cannot make or dispatch an order in time, tell us the same day at info@houseofjd.in or +91 93723 43535. We cancel the order and refund the customer in full. A second miss within a month pauses your listings.

Customers

• Customers deal with House of JD. Their questions come to our team, not to you.
• No phone numbers, Instagram handles or payment links in your listings or photos, and no selling to House of JD customers outside the site.
• Use a customer’s name, address and phone number only for their order. Do not keep them for anything else or share them.

Returns and what you are paid

• Our team handles every return and exchange with the customer, under the Refund and Return Policy.
• Customers have 15 days from delivery to raise a request, and it must be finished within 30 days of delivery. A change of mind gets an exchange or store credit, not a refund.
• If a piece comes back damaged, faulty or not what the customer ordered, you are not paid for that order.

Payouts

• We pay by bank transfer only, to the account in your dashboard under Settings, Payment. Add it before your first sale.
• On the 10th of every month we pay your share of each order whose 15-day return window closed in the month before. A piece delivered on 5 September clears on 20 September and is paid on 10 October.
• Your share is 75% of the price the piece sold for, before any House of JD discount code. Delivery charges are not part of it. A piece sold for ₹9,000 pays you ₹6,750, less any tax Indian law requires us to deduct or collect, which we show on your payout.
• We pay out only when your balance is at least ₹1,000. A smaller balance carries over to the next payout date, the 10th of the following month.
• An order with an open return request is paid once the request is settled.

Your name and your work

• Your designs stay yours. Listing a piece does not give House of JD any right to reproduce the design.
• While your store is open, House of JD may show your store name, logo, photos and product details on the site and on its social accounts to promote your pieces.

If a rule is broken

• The list of things nobody may post, under Reviews and anything else you post in our Terms and Conditions, applies to your listings, photos and store page too.
• House of JD can remove a listing, or pause your listings or your store, and will tell you why.
• If you break these terms, our Terms and Conditions, our privacy policy or the law, House of JD can remove what breaks them and can suspend or close your account or store straight away.
• We keep a record of designers whose listings were removed for copying someone else’s design, photos or brand.
• If you think a removal, pause or closure is wrong, write to our Grievance Officer, whose details are at the end of our Terms and Conditions.
