These terms govern your use of HOUSE OF JD, the retail platform of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. By browsing the site or placing an order, you agree to them. They exist to keep things fair for you and for the student designers whose work you are buying. Please read them before you shop.

Who can use the site

You need to be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract under Indian law to buy from us. If you are shopping on behalf of a business or an institution, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

Your account

You can shop as a guest or create an account. If you create one, keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it. We can suspend an account that is being used for fraud or abuse.

About the pieces

Most of what we sell is one of a kind, or made in small runs, by students and young designers at JD Institute. Because these are handmade, small variations in colour, texture, and measurement are normal and are part of the character of the piece, not a fault. We photograph everything as honestly as we can, but screens differ, so a colour may look slightly different in person.

Where a piece is one of one, once it sells it is gone, and we cannot promise to make another exactly like it.

Prices and taxes

All prices are shown in Indian Rupees. Unless we say otherwise, the price includes applicable GST. We may change prices at any time, but the price you see at checkout is the price you pay for that order. If we spot an obvious pricing error, for example a piece listed at a fraction of its real price, we may cancel the order and refund you rather than honour the mistake.

Orders and acceptance

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. We confirm receipt by email, but the contract is formed only when we dispatch your order. Until then, we may decline or cancel an order if the piece is out of stock, if we cannot verify your details, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel after you have paid, you get a full refund.

Payment

We accept UPI, major credit and debit cards, and netbanking through our payment gateway. Payments are processed securely by the gateway, and we do not store your full payment details. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may hold or cancel the order.

Shipping, returns, and cancellations

How we ship, how long it takes, and what it costs are set out in our Shipping page. Your rights to return or exchange a piece are set out in our Returns and Exchanges page. Both are part of these terms. You can cancel an order before it is dispatched by writing to us quickly at hello@houseofjd.in.

Selling on HOUSE OF JD

If you register as a designer, additional terms apply to your seller account, including how listings are reviewed, how commissions and payouts work, and what you may and may not list. You keep ownership of your designs, and you give us permission to show and sell them on the platform and to use their images to promote the store. You are responsible for making sure your work is your own and does not copy anyone else.

Using the site properly

Please do not misuse the site. That means no attempts to break its security, no scraping or copying our content for your own commercial use, no uploading anything harmful, and no pretending to be someone else. The names, logos, photographs, and text on this site belong to HOUSE OF JD or its designers, and you may not reuse them without permission.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to describe pieces accurately and to keep the site running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If we have a disagreement, let us try to sort it out directly first by writing to hello@houseofjd.in. If that does not work, the courts in India will have jurisdiction.
