We want you to love what you bought. If something is not right, here is exactly how returns and exchanges work at HOUSE OF JD. Because a lot of our pieces are one of a kind and made by hand, some rules are a little different from a mass-market store, and we have spelt those out clearly below.

The basics

You can return or exchange most pieces within 7 days of delivery. To be accepted, the piece must be:

  • Unworn and unwashed, with no marks, stains, or smells.
  • Still carrying its original tags and, where it came with one, its packaging.
  • In the same condition you received it.

How different pieces are handled

  • Standard pieces: you can choose a full refund to your original payment method, or a size exchange if we have your size in stock.
  • One-of-one pieces: since there is only ever one of these, we cannot restock them, so they are exchanged for store credit rather than a refund. Store credit does not expire.
  • Made to order: pieces cut or stitched specially for you cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or are not what you ordered.
  • Final sale items: anything clearly marked “final sale” on its product page cannot be returned or exchanged, except for a genuine defect.

If your piece arrives damaged or wrong

Open your parcel and check it soon after it arrives. If a piece is damaged, defective, or simply not what you ordered, tell us within 48 hours with a photo, and we will make it right at no cost to you, either a replacement, a repair where possible, or a full refund including any delivery charge you paid.

How to start a return

  1. Email hello@houseofjd.in with your order number and a line about what you would like to do.
  2. We will reply with a return address and, where we offer it, a pickup or prepaid label.
  3. Pack the piece safely with its tags and send it back, or hand it to the pickup agent.

Please do not send anything back before you hear from us, or we may not be able to trace it.

Refunds

Once we receive your return and check it, we process the refund within 5 to 7 working days. It goes back to your original payment method, and how long it then takes to show in your account depends on your bank, usually a few more days. For orders paid by cash on delivery, we refund to a bank account or UPI ID you give us.

Who pays for return shipping

If the return is because of our mistake, a damaged, defective, or wrong item, we cover the shipping. If you are returning something for another reason, such as a change of mind or a fit that did not work, a small return shipping cost may apply and will be told to you before you send it.
