OPENING NIGHT — THE HOUSE OPENS 21 JULY
MADE BY THE STUDENTS OF JD INSTITUTE
ONE OF ONE, MOST OF THE TIME

Last updated: 15 July 2026

HOUSE OF JD is the retail platform of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. When you browse, buy, or sign up to sell here, you trust us with some information about yourself. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language instead of legal fog.

If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@houseofjd.in and a person will answer.

Who we are

For the purpose of Indian data protection law, HOUSE OF JD, operated under JD Institute of Fashion Technology, is the party responsible for your personal data. Our contact details are at the bottom of this page, including the grievance officer you can reach if something goes wrong.

What we collect

We only ask for what we actually need to run the store. Depending on how you use the site, that includes:

  • Account and order details: your name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
  • Payment information: handled entirely by our payment gateway. We receive a confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last few digits of the instrument, never your full card number, UPI PIN, or netbanking password.
  • Order history: what you bought, when, and its delivery status, so we can help you if a parcel goes missing or you want a return.
  • Support messages: anything you write to us by email, chat, or the contact form, along with our replies.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device, and how you move through the site, collected through cookies and similar tools. This helps us keep the site working and spot fraud.
  • Designer applications: if you apply to sell, we also collect your portfolio details, bank or UPI details for payouts, and any tax identifiers you provide.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data such as caste, religion, or health information, and we ask that you do not send it to us.

Why we use it

  • To process your order, take payment, and get it delivered.
  • To keep you posted on your order through email and SMS.
  • To answer your questions and sort out problems with a purchase.
  • To pay our student and partner designers and give them credit for their sales.
  • To protect the store against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations, including GST records.
  • To send you occasional updates about new collections and events, but only if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use a few essential ones to remember what is in your cart and to keep you logged in. We also use analytics cookies to understand which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site. You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner when you first visit, or clear them any time in your browser settings. Turning off essential cookies may stop parts of the store from working.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with the partners we need to run the store, and only the parts they need to do their job:

  • Payment gateways to process your payment securely.
  • Courier and logistics partners to deliver your order, which means sharing your name, address, and phone number.
  • Our student and partner designers receive the shipping details needed to prepare and pack your piece, but not your payment information.
  • Service providers such as our hosting, email, and analytics tools, who are bound to keep your data confidential.
  • Authorities where the law requires it, for example a valid court order or tax audit.

How long we keep it

We keep your order and tax records for as long as Indian law requires, which is generally several years for financial records. Account information stays until you ask us to delete it or your account has been inactive for a long time. Support messages are kept only as long as they are useful for helping you.

How we protect it

We use encryption for data in transit, restrict who on our team can see personal data, and review our security regularly. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to guard your information, and if a breach ever affects you, we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete your data, where we are not required to keep it by law.
  • Stop sending you marketing messages.
  • Withdraw a consent you gave us earlier.

To exercise any of these, email hello@houseofjd.in from the address on your account. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will not charge you for a normal request.

Children

This store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the store grows or the law changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you by email or a notice on the site.

Grievance officer and contact

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, you can reach our grievance officer for any complaint about how your data is handled.
